According to this Reuters article, Royal Dutch Shell and its partners in the $22 billion Sakhalin-2 project have accepted cash and promises of future cooperation from Gazprom. The Russian firm wants to participate in the venture, and the deal is to close sometime after the December 19, 2006 publication date of this article. -
